don't argue with me about you

Baby, if you’re reading this, I probably like you more than you think—and yes, I’d let you sit by me at lunch. But you’ve got to quit being so hard on the person in the mirror.

Give it a rest.

You do not become better by tearing yourself down. You don’t grow by running your own name into the ground. That’s not discipline—that’s just exhausting.

Now listen—if there’s work to do, then do it. Grow up where you need to grow up. Fix what needs fixing. Own your stuff. No excuses.

But stop acting like shame is helping you. It’s not. It’s just loud.

Be honest. Be accountable. And be a little kinder while you’re doing the work.

Then come find me. I’ll remind you how much I like you, and how much Jesus loves you. And maybe—if you let it—you’ll start to believe it instead of arguing with it.
